Roger Lee Lodel, a devoted family man and faith-filled member of the community, died at home of natural causes on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the age of 68. Born on November 2, 1956 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, Roger’s life was filled with love, joy and a good story.
While working at Roorbach’s Greenhouses in Manitowoc, Roger met the love of his life, Cathie Chupita. They were married in 1979 and went on to create a beautiful life together, eventually settling in Whitelaw, Wisconsin. Roger spent his career as a salesman, known for his ability to strike up a lively conversation with anyone, wherever he went.
Roger was an avid member of the community since high school, and was a part of many organizations over the years. In 2015 he was named “Citizen of the Year” in Manitowoc for his involvement with Safety Patrol.
Throughout his life, Roger enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, woodworking, camping, gardening, and spending time with his family on the deck of the cottage at Kelly Lake. He was proud to be an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kellnersville.
Roger shared he was most proud of “My faith in God, my wife, my children, my grandchildren, being a father and my sales abilities.”
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cathie, with whom he shared many cherished memories. Together, they raised three children, each of whom brought him immense pride: Jayme Cotter and her husband, Steve; Brenda Haese and her husband Jeremy, and Brian Lodel and his wife, Bri. Roger was also a proud grandfather to his “6 pack” of grandchildren: Finnegan and Liam Cotter; Luca and Cora Haese; and Reese and Camryn Lodel. He is also survived by his brother, Louis Lodel Jr. (Deborah) and nephew Louis Lodel III (Erin). He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Agnes (Wachowski) Lodel, Sr. and a brother, Jimmy.
A funeral service will be held to honor Roger’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kellnersville. Visitation will take place at the church Thursday morning after 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Very Reverend Brian S. Belongia will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
