Ronald D. "Ronnie" Mitchell, age 89, entered his eternal life on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was a devoted husband, caring father figure, proud veteran, and adventurous traveler.
Ron was born on October 29, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Samuel and Delphia (Helvey) Mitchell. He served his country with honor and dedication in the Navy for 14 years aboard the Entemedor Submarine. Following his military service, he worked 32 years with WI Electric, retiring from Point Beach Nuclear Plant in 1994.
In addition to his military and professional accomplishments, Ron was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills.
Ron was the beloved husband of Carol Mitchell, and together they shared a life filled with love and companionship. He is survived by his wife, children, stepchildren, and step-grandchildren, who adored him deeply. Ron's step-grandchildren fondly recall the joy of riding on the back of the tractor with him at their old home in Tisch Mills.
His stepdaughter Karen Fabian, and his parents Samuel and Delphia Mitchell preceded Ron in death.
In his later years, Ron resided in assisted living in Two Rivers, where he continued to touch the lives of those around him with his kindness and generosity of spirit.
Ron's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street in Mishicot. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service led by Pastoral Minister Christal Wavrunek at 11:00 o'clock.
