Sally Ray Baugniet

Sally J. Ray Baugniet, former Mishicot resident, currently residing in Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully Monday evening, September 19, 2022 at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay.

Born in 1932 to Robert and Mildred (deNeveu) Ray, she grew up in Milwaukee/Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with majors in Education and Art and a minor in Biology. Sally taught elementary school in both of those areas and in Manitowoc and Mishicot. She married Richard F. Baugniet July 2nd, 1955 in Wauwatosa. He preceded her in death March 9, 2020.

Sally and Dick had four sons: Robert (Debra) Baugniet of Sheboygan, Richard, Jr. (deceased), Christopher (Dr. Dale Rustad) of DePere, and Michael (Cheryl) Baugniet of Two Rivers. Sally is also survived by six grandchildren: Evan, Aaron, Lauren, Jeff, Jenny, and Kailee; along with nine great-grandchildren: Ethan, Jason, Emma, Nolan, Kelodeigh, Emma, Hannah, Lillie, and Alice; and her nieces & nephews: Lori (Mike) Krause Berry, Jay (Barb) Krause, Jeff Kornely, and Mark Kornely (Dr. Diane Staudinger). She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Ray; her husband, Richard Baugniet; one son, Richard Baugniet Jr.; one sister & brother-in-law, Patricia "Pat" and Allan "Al" Krause; and her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Florenz and Evelyn (Froelich) Baugniet.

Sally's hobby was breeding, raising, and showing Pomeranians, Irish Setters, and Norwich Terriers at AKC (American Kennel Club) dog shows. Later, she stopped showing and became qualified to judge all Toys, Terriers, Sporting, some non-Sporting and Miscellaneous breeds, those groups, and Best in Show. As a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay and former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, she loved singing in both of the church choirs. Sally enjoyed and loved life & all of her family.

Funeral services will be held at 12 o'clock noon on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Christian Raj with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 12 o'clock.
