Sandra “Sandy” Ann DeRosier (Kenville), age 75, of Mishicot, WI entered eternal life early Thursday morning, January 12th, 2023 in the comfort of her home. She was welcomed into heaven by her father and mother, John and Gladys (Prucha) Kenville and her sister, Susan (Kenville) Lindeblad.
Sandy was born July 4, 1947 in Two Rivers, WI and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1965. She attended St. Norbert College and received her bachelor’s degree in teaching in 1969. She married David G. DeRosier on Aug 8, 1970 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers.
Sandy was a devout Christian with a lifelong passion for teaching. She began her 25-year teaching career at Orchard Elementary School in Sussex, WI in 1969. After a hiatus to raise her four children, she returned to teaching in 1985 with the Manitowoc Catholic School System where she was awarded the Francis of Assisi Model of Faith Award. In the evenings, she taught religion classes at Holy Redeemer and was an integral part of their program. She retired from teaching in 2006.
Sandy was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish and the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman. She volunteered in the summers at Rogers Street Fishing Village.
Her faithfulness and devotion to teaching, her religion and family was by far the most important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David; her children, Doug DeRosier, Scott (Jill) DeRosier, Jennifer (Chad) Vande Hei and Brian (Amy) DeRosier; her wonderful grandchildren: Grace and Aubry DeRosier, Sydney and Breckwyn Vande Hei and Kaiden Bradl; sisters-in-law: Patricia (Pat) Hein, Debra (Jeanne Wolfe) DeRosier; brothers-in-law: Allan (Nancy) DeRosier, Steven (Pam) DeRosier and Norman Lindeblad; and special uncle Roger (Lois) Prucha; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Kenville; her sister, Susan Lindeblad; and father-in-law & mother-in law, Gerald and Erma (Behnke) DeRosier.
Sandy’s presence in our lives will continue to be her greatest gift to us.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Robert Gahl; Nicole Duerschmidt of ProMedica Hospice, and to Pat Krueger for the loving care provided to Sandy. The family would also like to thank neighbors Dave and Dixie Sauer.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 3:00 until 5:45 p.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish, 3201 Mishicot Rd, Two Rivers. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Very Rev. William G. O'Brien will follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tisch Mills at later date.
