Shirley Ann (Lentsch) Beath born May 9, 1930 and passed away quietly Sunday, January 14, 2024 with her two remaining children by her side.
Shirley was born on May 9, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Thoma) Lentsch. On June 28, 1952, she married William C. Beath, Jr. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Chicago. Shirley was a restaurant manager for many years at Woolworth’s before being transferred to the main office.
She loved gardening, but had to give it up a few years ago. It was important for her to minister to others; she brought communion to the homebound and to Catholics in the hospital until Covid. After that, it became difficult for her to stand for lengths of time. She was active in the prayer shawl ministry in Lake Zurich, IL for several years, before relocating to Two Rivers. She was the coordinator for St. Peter the Fisherman’s prayer shawl ministry until recently and was also a bereavement minister. She continued crocheting shawls and baptismal blankets for the parish.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna & son Robert. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Connie (Barch) Lentsch of Sacramento, Calif. She is further survived by many, many cousins and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her beloved husband William C. Beath, her oldest son, Rev. James Beath and her second daughter, Janet Beath.
