Shirley C. Streu

August 12, 1932 — July 2, 2023

Shirley Crystal Streu, 90, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2023, surrounded by family.

Shirley entered the world on August 12, 1932, in Two Rivers, WI, the only child of August and Gladys Bredael. She attended school in Two Rivers and was a member of the Two Rivers Washington High School graduating class of 1950.

She married Robert Ernst Streu on November 12, 1955, at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers.  Bob and Shirley were blessed with five children: John, Jay, Lisa, Lori and Lynne.

Shirley was devoted to her parents, grandparents, husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was loved by all. She was always proud of her entire family and cherished the memories.

Upon Bob’s retirement, the couple moved to Alamo, TX where they resided for over 25 years.

In 2016, Shirley moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Fairfield Glade, TN, where she enjoyed being in an independent living apartment close to family.  While in Fairfield Glade, Shirley was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

During her life, Shirley enjoyed traveling with family and friends, being active in Garden Club, the Red Hat Society, card playing and many other activities. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.


She is survived by her two sons, John (Linda) Streu, Two Rivers, WI; and Jay (Mary) Streu, Scottsdale, AZ; three daughters, Lisa (Steve) Lehmann, Marietta, GA; Lori Streu, Austin, TX; and Lynne (Philip) Riley, Fairfield Glade, TN; seven grandchildren: Michael Streu, Bryan (Alexa) Streu; David (Ashley) Streu; Ryan (Maggie) Streu; Tyler Lehmann, Alyssa (Brett) Jackson; Laila (James) Squires; and five great-grandchildren, Harper and Riley Streu, Jackson Streu, McKenna and Knox Squires. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Madelin Streu and special friend Colleen Hodgkins, Bloomington, MN, and a brother-in-law, EJ (Rhonda) Streu, Scottsdale, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Streu, parents, August and Gladys Bredael, and her grandparents, Ben and Eva Urbanek.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 until 10:15 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers, WI.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page.
