Ted Bateman, age 80, longtime Mishicot resident, passed away early Saturday morning, August 5, 2023 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Ted was born in Pratt, Kansas on December 5, 1942 to Lewis and Fannie (McGraw) Bateman. He attended school in Kansas, then served our country as a member of the United States Army. Ted drove semi-trucks over the road for many years for Packerland Packaging and Schneider National of Green Bay until his retirement. On March 22, 1975, he married Jean Eisenmann in Mishicot.
Ted was a longtime member of the West Shore Sportsman Club, and also a member of the Mishicot Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music, and taking his dog Jack for rides. He was also a well-known bartender for the Crow Bar & Grill of Mishicot.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Bateman; one son, Brian (Lynda) Bateman; daughters: Lori Jean Bateman and Autumn Bateman (granddaughter); along with grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Ed (Sue) Bateman; two sisters: Louise (Allan) Schnittker and Dorothy (Tom) Webb; one sister-in-law, Carol (Mark) Kunstmann; and very close friends: Jeff and Mary Eckert, Billy "Chico" Schleis and Lori Fels, Jeff and Andrea Novak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Fannie Bateman; his daughter, Mary Sue Bateman; one brother, Louis Bateman; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Paul and Mae Eisenmann; and one brother-in-law, James Eisenmann.
Relatives and friends may call after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the Holy Cross Parish Center, (In The School). There will be a prayer service held at 5:00 p.m. led by Pastor Lynn Tricker, followed by military rites which will be accorded by members of VFW Post #7753 of Mishicot. Entombment will be held at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
