Wayne R. "Windy" Marcelle

July 27, 1943 — August 3, 2022

Wayne R. "Windy" Marcelle, age 79 of Mishicot, peacefully entered eternal life Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022 at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.

Wayne was born in Manitowoc on July 27, 1943 to Amand and Joyce (Mott) Marcelle. He attended Mishicot schools and later attended Lakeshore Technical Institute for his molding apprenticeship through Eck Foundry. From 1960 to 1963 Wayne served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, serving mainly in Korea. After honorable discharge, he returned home and was united in marriage to Ramona Genrich on January 4, 1964 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Over the years, Wayne worked for Mirro Aluminum, Vinton Construction, and retired from Eck Foundry in 2002. Wayne was an avid trapper, hunter, and fisherman, and was a lifetime member of the Larrabee Sportsman's Club. He was also a longtime member of Manitowoc County Fish & Game Association and enjoyed many years at his cottage in High Falls. Most importantly, Wayne will be remembered for his one-of-a-kind personality and his great stories.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona; four children: Jane Marcelle (fiance, Michael Oswald) of Cadiz, Kentucky, Gerald Marcelle (fiancee, Lucinda Matte) of Two Rivers, Jill (Jimmy) Skarda of Wrightstown, and Julie (Mark) Brouchoud of Mishicot; thirteen grandchildren: Melissa (Aaron) Butler, Joey (Tricia) Walters, Billy Walters (Haley Wagner), Christopher (Alexi) Kornelly, Ashley McLean, Bryana (Kyle) Drumm, Brooke (Abe) Butler, Brandon Karl (Shelly Pritzl), Taylor (Taylor) Schultz, Zander Skarda, Devon Seiler, Kasey & Cooper Brouchoud; along with twenty three great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers & sisters-in-law, Brian (Ruth) Marcelle of Two Rivers, Doug (Debbie) Marcelle of Brothertown; three sisters & two brothers-in-law, Carolyn (Jim) Braun of Florida, Mary Marcelle (special friend, Gordy Wilker) of Mishicot, Connie (Charlie) Becker of Two Rivers; other in-laws include: Betty Thomason, Patricia Pribek, Sylvia (William) Zahorik, Mary (Arlyn) Clarkson, Robert Genrich, Michael Genrich, Gerry Genrich, Ruth Griffie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amand and Joyce Marcelle; in-laws, Herman and Hazel Genrich; one brother, Kenny Marcelle; one sister-in-law and four brothers-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street, Mishicot. Deacon Cal Naidl will preside at the service. Relatives and friends may greet the family at Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. until the time of service with military rites to follow by members of VFW Post #7753 of Mishicot.
