William J. Samz, age 88, longtime resident of Mishicot, died Wednesday morning, July 21, 2021 at the Hamilton Memorial Home in Two Rivers.
Bill was born in Mishicot on March 18, 1933 to Oscar and Frances (Reuter) Samz and has been a lifelong area resident. He graduated from St. Norbert’s High School in DePere and on May 29, 1954 was united in marriage to Annette V. Brockhoff at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Annette preceded him in death November 28, 2020. Bill farmed in the Mishicot area until his retirement, and after retiring worked as a greenskeeper at Fox Hills. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed listening to classical music, and loved all Wisconsin Sports including the Badgers, Bucks, Brewers and Packers.
He is survived by five children: Christine (Stephen) Adams of Troy, Kansas, Charles (Linda) Samz of Two Rivers, Gregg Samz (fiance, Mary Deane) of Mishicot, Amy (John) Dudley of Mosinee, and Trudi (Robert) Johnson of Manitowoc; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Helen Koch and Sr. Marietta Samz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Frances Samz; his wife, Annette; one daughter, Lori Samz; one son, William Samz, Jr; and several brothers and sisters.
Private family services were held at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street in Mishicot, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
