Robert "Bob" Becker

March 6, 1954 — July 17, 2023

With the heaviest of hearts, we share the passing of Robert "Bob/Arnie" Thomas Becker, age 69, who died peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, surrounded by love and family.

Robert was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on March 6, 1954 to Edith and Arnold Becker. He was a 1972 graduate of Roncalli High School in Manitowoc. Robert married Kay (Schumaker) on October 26, 1974.

He owned and operated Robert Becker Masonry for 45 years. Bob always put his heart and soul into his brick, concrete and stonework that is noticeable throughout the Lakeshore area.

His favorite place in the world was Victory Buck Camp in Hayward, Wisconsin, where he would hunt deer and bear.   He also loved cooking and making smoked meats with friends and family.   Achieving the perfect summer sausage and creating new recipes was his passion.

Robert’s daughters were the pride and joy and his life. They traveled, fished and got into trouble together.   He also loved nothing more than his grandchildren, and cherished the times spent hunting, telling stories, and exploring the outdoors.

Everyone who met him knew he was one of a kind.  Along with his wild hair, lopsided knit hat, and expressive vocabulary, he was a selfless, dedicated, compassionate and loving man.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; his daughters: Katie Becker (partner Jef Floyd) of Park City, Utah, and Gretchen (Jason) Becker Crabb, and grandsons: Emerson (“Butch”), Elliot (“Jake”), and Emmett (“Buck”) Crabb of Verona, Wisconsin; siblings: Richard (Jean) Becker, of Two Rivers, Jan (Leigh) Coenen, of Mishicot, and Shirley (Bob) Brose, of Manitowoc;  sisters-in-law: Joanne Crowley (Bud Sawatzky) and Diane (Tom) Brotski, all of Two Rivers; and one brother-in-law, Dan (Trisha) Shumaker of Manitowoc. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends he considered family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Edith Becker; father-in-law, Ruben Schumaker and mother-in-law, Janet Schumaker; one sister, Betty McFadzen; and nephews: Pat McFadzen and Kevin Brotski.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center ICU for the excellent care they provided for Bob and his family, especially ICU nurses Elizabeth and Rachel; and the many friends and family who provided unwavering support to Robert and his family.

A private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
